P3D V3 Compatibility

Greetings,

 

I'm not sure whether anyone reads this forum, but I wanted to pose a question concerning T2G's stance on compatibility with P3D V3.  Since it's release, many developers have been working on separate installers or updates to current ones for those who use P3D V3 and their new and improved wacky directory system.  Some devs have stated that they aren't changing a thing while others are catering to the new system.  In any case, what airports can be safely installed into P3D V3 and work without issue?

I have not seen much posted on this topic yet. I am sure we are going to wait and see if they announce anything. I would be hardpressed if they do not.

P3D V3 is a huge improvement over 2.5. With 2.5, OOM's were always an issue. With V3 no more OOM's. I tried installing VHHH, and have had no success.

Can we in the meantime install T2G products with their current installers into P3Dv3? Is there a way to do it, like a step by step? Also noticed a few files in the update section for various scenery. Where would those go into? Thanks.

Just select your P3D v3 Folder during the installation. Then add the two folders (f.e. LTBA and LTBA-LC) with the Sceneryconfigeditor (or in the Sim) to the library. Every airport from T2G I own is working fine for me in v3.

Hi all,

  as posted before, v3.2 is a huge improvement rfespect the past, especially on the OOM issue - nearly the most important for all simmers, IMHO. So it should be much appreciated if T2T airports could be updated. So far I have no problem with Istanbul LTBA, while half of Mexico City airport is only filled with 50% of black boxes instead of buildings. Apart from the City itself, with the same incompatiblity issues.

Good day....

Has there been any resolve for the TKPK black building issue in P3D?  This really detracts from the scenery.  I have searched for fixes....but only see fixes related to other T2G products.

Is anyone able to provide some info on this.

What would help, is more info on your system specs, what other add-ons you are using, the description of the scenario (on the ground, in the air, on approach, etc).  I've seen and heard this happening when settings are too high in P3D and the system rig cannot keep up.

The terminal and airport surroundings are displaying as they ought to.  However the houses/buildings around the city are all black, regardless of being on the ground, or in the air - does not matter if it is a trike, cessna, dash 8, 737, 747.  The only underlying sceneries are Global & Vector.  This seems to be a common issue with some of the other sceneries as I have seen posts questioning similar occurrences (http://forum.iflysimx.com/topic/1457-terrain-buildings-show-only-a-black-blocks/).  I have no issues running more complex sceneries, and or all of my other T2G titles work without issue.

What about add-ons, such as whether you are using simulator-manipulating software, such as sim starter or an accelerator?  Any other add-ons, including GSX, weather? Try disabling the add-on scenery and seeing if the default airport and buildings surrounding the airport appear as they should.  Have you also tried to uninstall and reinstall the scenery to see if perhaps something got corrupted and is now fixed?  We could also surmise that there is a greater resource load on your rig in this area, which can happen for a lot of people.  You may also want to visit the ORBX official forum and look for entries about Vector.  I remember having a lot of issues with it, if you leave everything on.  Vector can be very resource intensive in this state so you would need to disable a lot in order for your system to handle the scenery.  Typically, and from my own experience with this issue, the black textures are directly related to your system trying to catch up and draw everything in your view.
