  2. Hello Heron, Yeah it's a shame. But regarding ooms, I have had similar issues with KMCO. But now no more OOMs on arrival. Use the nexusmods to downscale those unnecessary high resolution textures which will save you a good amount of vas. You can't disable in inside model of the terminal as mentioned in the avsim forums which takes up a bit of performance space in already a heavy performance draining area, Seattle. http://www.avsim.com/topic/473495-downscale-your-textures-without-quality-loss-eliminate-ooms/page-4 Hope this helps. The downscale in the textures isn't that bad, you don't lose much visual quality. In KMCO and VHHH scenery I've managed to save around 400-500 on vas which was pretty good. Regards
  3. Ok just gave in and fired up taxi2gate's version of vhhh. On the surface of it along with their "latest" patch on the surface the scenery looks "great". But like yourself @2bsc still NO papi's and the duplicate calvert ILS lights is very lousily done. Really as a paying customer this shouldn't be what we paid for surely. There's even certain freeware sceneries that have these basics done properly. Maybe since taxi2gate are rolling out scenery projects almost yearly, then onto the next "new eye candy" they compromise on some details, then plaster over it with patches which might break something else. Sorry to sound all negative ladies and gents, really sorry. Think I have just lost hope and support now in all honesty. Regards

  5. @Alex Yeah max's last update was 2012. Sadly I am still on the fsx boat, haven't jumped ship onto p3d yet. It'll be quite a costly jump though. @Richard to be fair, taxi2gate (don't think they'd be idle) but have been well under the radar on this forum. Their facebook page seems quite idle as well. Although I did get a reply from them just last week in a post I made about having a possibility of a "Lite Texture pack" for their sceneries as a lot of their textures are HD where it really isn't necessary, but it did take them more than a week to even get any kind of reply and I was down voted for my post which didn't help, since I tried to come across as constructive since not all of us are running P3d and are still on good old fsx (dx10) :). But again their support is quite baron as their means of any kind of beta testing their sceneries before shipping it out to the public which is dreaded with bugs etc. I've only had bad experiences with their sceneries now and to be honest there are other vendors who are far more accommodating who deserve our support. (again I didn't mean to come across like this, but I couldn't hold myself back about the taxi2gate overhype). Kind regards gents
  6. For Barbados there's an amazing freeware scenery by Max Kraus, Barbados Grantley Adams, its on avsim. The others (not entirely sure) might be done already by Latin VFR. Regards

Just a follow up to whom it may concern at Taxi2gate, regarding your reply that not able to make a lite texture pack would "turn blurry on the scenery", I have managed to use Ordenador which is a software tool to downsize certain textures on the KMCO scenery without compromising too much quality in the work you guys have done with putting together your sceneries. A lot of the texture files were at 2048, which is nice. But some might have been 2048 where they don't need to be perhaps? With vas management taking off from KMCO I only had 600mb of vas remaining, using the pmdg 737 or 777 or fslabs 320. I only use ASN with REX cloud textures at 512, so no mad HD textures. Departing and arriving into other sceneries made by other commercial developers vas wasn't much of an issue, but when it came to Taxi2gate scenery I wasn't able to land without an oom. Now after downsizing a good bulk of the textures in your scenery I have monitored the vas and was quite astonished that aroughly 1.4-1.6 gb of vas remaining (weather dependant) was free to commence a flight, and arriving into the scenery with around 800-900mb was left free. The ordenador tool didn't cause any adverse errors to the scenery which was great and a good result. I suppose in the meantime if a Lite-texture pack isn't available I presume this would be one alternative work around to accommodate your sceneries into our virtual flying world. This was not to put you down, just a constructive critique in a way. Considering the amount of time it took for your team to reply was quite a downer as a taxi2gate customer. Kind regards
  8. Not sure if this topic was taken onboard by any means, I've asked/started a topic about an option for Lite-textures on their sceneries and had a downvote for some odd reason. Eventually got a reply from taxi2gate that if the textures are put down there will be blurries, which is odd because I've managed to use the texture downscale tool called Ordenador (there's a topic about this on avsim) and turns out a lot of the textures are 2048! This was KMCO, managed to get most of the textures down to 1024 without much of a downside in quality. Still looks pretty damn good, even better with performance and now have roughly 1.5gb of vas remaining for an enjoyable flight. Regards

  11. Regarding GSX, good luck with trying to get any support (if any at all) by Taxi2gate. Your best chance is to go directly to Fsdreamteam, since GSX runs off the afcad file. Or if you have an afcad editor then you should be able to sort it out yourself. Definitely ask fsdreamteam as there might even be a user submitted afcad on their forums.

Hi there, As the title states, would it be possible to have a LITE Texture package with standard 1024 textures to give more overhead for vas management flying from Taxi2gate mega scenery to xxx mega scenery with complex Airliners, and some might be using ORBX, but as we know Vector is a vas eater. Hope this can/will be implemented as other rival developers have given that option Cheers
  14. Hello, hope the jump onto the steam version is serving you well and more efficient with OOMs. For me I am still on the box version, but running it with Steve's dx10 fixer. For weather textures I use REX, but the textures are all set at 512x for low and high clouds. Personally I think it gives a more authentic look with clouds being softer and not too dramatic. With graphic settings scenery complexity is set to Extremely Dense. Autogen is the one I scaled back on, down to Normal. Terrain Mesh is at 90. Texture resolution is set I think at 2m, just one notch from the right. Water effects is set at High 1x or sometimes I put it at Medium 1x depending, but overall I haven't seen any performance hit. Getting anywhere constant of 18fps-25fps on average in the VC, flying pmdg777, 737ng's and FSLA320x. For vas I can confirm that on the ground at KMCO I am getting around 1gb - 800mb sometimes 700mb REMAINING. But the in the air it'll get dumped with around 1.2,1.3 or 1.4 remaining. Then depending where I fly as I approach I'll have anywhere from 800mb-500mb remaining. I minimise panning outside too much, just stay inside the VC. It would be nice if taxi2gate had an option for Lite textures, just the normal 1028x textures. Personally I find this HD business too much of a gimick since all FS platforms are still a 32-bit platform. Only until p3d (if they go that way) develops 64-bit then HD textures would be a reasonable setting to use all the way.
  15. Sorry to bring up a thread that has been dead for more than a year now. I was wondering how are you experiences with the VAS issues in VHHH Taxi2gate version? As I am still on the fence on getting it. To be realistic, as I am sure quite the majority of us might be running it with Flytampa's Kai Tai scenery and airliners like PMDG's aircraft or the FSL320. Any issues with VAS OOM's recently? Cheers
  16. Sorry to hear about that arborne. I can't remember the link, but if you do a search on Avsim, there's a post of a few simmers who have managed to get KMCO working on P3d. Here's the link, but apparently its on V2,4 so it was before V3. I am not a P3d user I'm afraid. But if I did mange to get it working, I would've made a post about it on here. Hope you get it sorted.   17. Nice to hear you got it working. Shame this developer is quite dreadfully bad with customer service. I don't use P3D, but was wondering do you get a ctd when you approach KMCO? Because i used to, until I installed FSUIPC which sorted it out.

  19. What texture setting have you got in your fsx.cfg? 2048 seems to do well. Also autogen? I have mine at Normal and its ok. Any other addon airports which are activated? Try to only have Dep-Arr airports active (maybe and Alternate if you like). Also DX10 fixer seems to help with vas management much better over standard dx9. Let us know how you get on. Cheers
  20. I am extremely amazed NOBODY has replied to your request. Well like yourself I have had issues with it. A fix that has worked for me was installing the utility called FSUIPC. I just have the free version for now, but it comes with a fix to sort out the 3d error when you check the crash report with KMCO. I hope this helps. Cheers

  22. I couldn't agree more as well. Just to echo the original poster. I have been on the fence for sometime since Taxi2gate released VHHH -Chep Lap Kok, Hong Kong scenery, that goes along with their KSEA Seattle Tacoma as well. Only thing that really hold me back is reading the amount of bugs quite a few simmers in the community have encountered. The only Taxi2gate scenery I own is KMCO, Orlando. It is really well done, I can't fault them at that for their efforts. But it just leaves such a bitter taste in your mouth when you find out that it doesn't work as you would expect it to. I.E flying out of the scenery is fine, but flying back into it or flying around then when the scenery loads you get the dreaded CTC FATAL ERROR, then the sim shuts down. Patched it with their only patch, which didn't solve it. Turns out I ended up installing a free version of Fsuipc which sorts out the d3d issue and now the scenery works fine. The roll out scenery after scenery, but there's quite a lot, and a heck of a lot that is missing in terms of how it's not working perfectly out of the box, all these minor issues which stack up, the installers are F ing (excuse my french) messy where you have to go into the Simmarket folder. As a saying goes by "keep your house tidy first, before inviting others", well something along those lines, case in point. It's also like buying a car or eating out in a restaurant, you expect what you've ordered/bought; yet comes with everything you picked, except without the full ingredients or the car didn't come with the intergrated satnav that was advertised. I really hope we aren't the only ones who are having these issues. I also hope taxi2gate get the A game up big time, otherwise they might not end up getting any support in the long-term.
